Here at Au Naturel, we are passionate about quality. We are also passionate about using essential oils safely.
Essential oils are powerful medicines. They are easily absorbed into the rest of the body when applied to the skin. This can cause problems if they are used incorrectly.
Essential oils are concentrated plant extracts, so it makes sense to use only organic essential oils. No one wants concentrated pesticides in their skincare products.
We therefore make all our leave-on products ONLY with CERTIFIED ORGANIC ESSENTIAL OILS. This includes our lotions, body butters, deodorants etc. We also do not exceed the recommended usage rates, to ensure we continue using essential oils safely.
Of course, this can cost considerably more. No one wants to wash an expensive product down the drain. For that reason, we use those organic essential oils that are cost-effective to make our soaps. We then include other quality essential oils that are not necessarily organic.
Babies & Children
Because essential oils are so powerful, we are very selective in what we use. Babies are very delicate, so our Baby Soaps & Lotions are all made without essential oils. We make our Children’s Soaps with child-safe essential oils, or leave them unscented.
Essential Oils & Pregnancy
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please use our unscented products, particularly during the first trimester. This is because some essential oils can cause difficulties & even miscarriage if used incorrectly.
